Chenille is a textured embroidery created by forming loop of wool yarn stitches. It creates a unique texture compared to the common embroidery. This type of embroidery always used to decorate varsity jacket such as letters, numbers and words.
Chenille embroidery can be done directly on the jacket fabric or embroidered first on a piece of felt fabric which is then contour cut and sewn onto the garment as a patch.
